Support WallingfordSaves

WallingfordSaves is currently supported and funded by Not A Number Cards & Gifts. Not A Number is a small owner operated business that believes that small owner operated businesses are an endangered species in larger cities due to the rising rents, and that the best way for these small businesses to survive and thrive is for small businesses to band together and help each other.  When starting WallingfordSaves Not A Number realized that most small businesses would not be willing to invest money in a venture that did not have a track record, or any proof that the program would benefit the individual businesses. Thus, Not A Number made the choice to fund the program out of their own pocket with the hope that by helping all of the businesses in the neighborhood, it would also benefit them indirectly. At this time, THERE IS NO COST TO PARTICIPATE! The concept being that a rising tide floats all boats. Not A Number does ask that participants print out some of their own flyers etc., but this is not required, and Not A Number even prints flyers and business cards to be handed out.

Not A Number also believes that although they founded WallingfordSaves and currently make the decisions about how the program operates that the operation should be transparent to participants and the community as a whole. Be assured that if you do donate, ALL of your donation will go towards helping promote the program with the printing of flyers, business cards, and more advertising. The blog below will document how money is spent, and any donations that are received. Donors will be listed, unless they request anonymity.

So if you are a current participant, or a neighborhood resident who uses the savings, PLEASE CONSIDER DONATING to support the ongoing operations of WallingfordSaves.  Also, please don't hesitate to contact us with your feedback about how to make the program better!

If you think this program is not worth your donation (or that Not A Number should keep doing it out of their own pocket), consider this: the city of Leesburg, Virginia has a group doing almost exactly what WallingfordSaves is doing except that they have a full time staff person, paid for by the city, and the group doing the administration gets a $15,000.00 annual grant from the city. Also consider that they only have fourteen participating businesses, and WallingfordSaves has over thirty, and is still growing! Not A Number has found several grants that may be available from the City of Seattle to support the program, but this is still going to require time to apply for.  So if you use or participate in the program, please consider donating. Your donation will help to build a more involved community!
